It seems that IPowerweb / IPower clientele are experiencing massive problems since Friday of last week. According to several Hostjury readers users of the IPowerweb / IPower service have been unable to check their e-mail since late Friday evening.
According to our sources it appears that Endurance International Group went ahead with their planned server migration without notifying any of their clients! The result is continuous problems and issues, clients unable to check their e-mail & unable to login to their web hosting accounts.
One IPowerweb / IPower user stated that technical support seems oblivious to the migration stating that the issues were a result of "Corrupt passwords" and would be handled within a few hours. Over five days later and the problems are still occurring.
We suppose the Endurance International Group name has another possible meaning. Just how long can their clientele endure problems!

Wow, and I thought I was having problems - a forum that takes 30/40 seconds to move from one page to the next but a web site that is ok (2/3 seconds), no email (not often used anyway), no access to cpanel but ftp works ok.
But it does sound like I should move soon.

The support is TERRIBLE. It takes them 2-3 days to respond, and then the response doesn't even come close to addressing the problem. The Live Chat feature has been "experiencing a network outage" for the past several days. What type of service should I expect from a company that can't even keep its own support servers up and running?
I am trying desperately to escape from this provider, and I was glad to find the guide on this site, but I'm still working on it... iPower is a terrible hosting provider and nobody should ever consider using them.

Two days later, and still "We are currently experiencing a network outage at our support location.". So the support has gone from appalling to non-existent.

Pamela slaton and Michael Salamone,
You will have to contact ipowerweb, and have your password reset. They will email you the new login info to the email you provided when you registered. It will be a random generated password, and once changed, your old password will no longer work. So have them reset the password, and look for the email.
Michael Salamone,
Once you do this, log into vdeck, and you will an option to check your mail online (through a browser) it sucks, it will be slow, and hard to use (IMHO) but for the time being, you can still receive your emails.
Next, goto www.gmail.com and signup for an email account. Then, once you have a gmail email account, go back to your ipower account, and tell each email account to forward the emails to that email account. If you want them sorted, you can sign up for several seperate gmail accounts, and have each individual ipower email account forward to a specific email.
At the least, you will be able to access your incoming mail. I know alot of people prefer an email with their domain at the end, but for the time being, you will be able to check your mail. Until I ipower learns how to setup a simple mailserver that works.
If you get stuck on any of the steps, or have future problems, just post here and I will try to help you troubleshoot it. Good luck!

I tried tech support a minute ago, because of the consistent downtime of my site. (down more often than up) Here is the message posted if you try live chat:

These guys are incredible, back in October I was emailing my Opt In List on my site, they kept shutting off my VPS (Virtual Private server) stating that My List was over 100 Million and I was Spamming. I told the rep, If I had an opt in list of over 100 Million I wouldn’t have a VPS and I would Hire someone to call vs. doing it myself. Eventually (Like a month) they rectified this by walking me through my settings.
Yesterday they completely shut my server off. No Notice, No Warning. They stated that they attempted to contact me via email, (I never got it) and this was to no avail so they shut my server down and eliminated all Data (Including my database) from their Servers. It’s amazing they can call me on numerous occasions to sell me Templates, but they cannot call me for renewal. I cannot even put to words how much this is going to cost me. IF you choose to use them, you have been warned.

Is something wrong with their Servers AGAIN? The pages with application PHP scripts will not load...other standard pages are fine (Home/About)...I keep getting an Error message after it times out. :-(

Go to website above for detailed problems with iPowerweb.
iPowerweb recently are forcing customers to go from vDeck 1.0 to vDeck 3.0. vDeck 3.0 is really a BETA product being forced on consumers.
For 'old timers' with iPowerweb, I still have 1 client on cPanel with only 250MB of storage space. The reason why they won't switch is because of all the problems first encountered with vDeck 1.0
iPowerweb has been having serious uptime problems when loading clients on a server until it is full then building another server to load more clients. When these servers went down, it went down hard.
It took me 2 years before I trusted vDeck 1.0, basically meaning that I took my client base elsewhere even when I saw that vDeck 1.0 seemed stable. However iPowerweb servers were far from reliable if you have 10-20 clients on shared servers.
Instead iPowerweb chose to force everyone to vDeck 3.0 hoping to cure the problems existing with vDeck 1.0 and instead finding that there are more problems with vDeck 3.0 that even Tech Support cannot handle as the basic infrastructure of vDeck 3.0 is highly unstable.
Some common problems you'll first experience is that the mail servers don't do their job, when transferred to vDeck 3.0.
Your website will load when it feels like. Sometimes fast, many times slow and often not at all. Tech Support will be unable to support your need as you wait for email support, phone support(60+minutes), chat support(40+minutes). The basic problem is that the vDeck 3.0 architecture is UNSTABLE.
Until vDeck 3.0 stabilizes, use iPowerweb at your own risk or seek hosting elsewhere.

Good news. The database has been fixed and the VB is now working. Thanks for the help.

Just Say NO To IPowerWeb
The ultimate goal is to initiate a class action lawsuit against IPower to recover losses caused by their mandated “transition” and to force them to offer options including remaining on the “old platform” if customer so wishes; AND to initiate a boycott against IPower to discourage new customers from contracting with them as a web host.

Streaky is right, this is very difficult to troubleshoot without being able to log in and view your databases and your php code.
I did find an article on vBulletin's forum regaurding a similar issue to yours:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56781
However, I bet if you were recently migrated, it has to do with your database's not being setup correctly.
Log into vdeck, and click on manage mySQL, verify your database is there, and make sure to reset the user and password to the right info. Then, click administer, and verify your database's tables are setup right.
Do not delete any of your databases, if you do you cannot create a new database with a deleted name. So if you deleted the database candy, you could never again create a database named candy. I have no idea why, but I had to learn the hard way!

Fedup - it literally means that the MySQL server can't open the data file for the table for whatever reason. Their techs should know how to find the cause & fix it pretty easily. It may be caused by permissions on the file or another issue like damage to it.

Okay,
I sat on hold with their Chat line and finally got through. However rep had no clue how to fix my problem and took my e-mail address so the tech can review the problem. I am using the VB message board software and keep receiving database errors below. Can I fix this? any help would be appreciated.Database error in vBulletin 2.3.4:
Invalid SQL: SELECT user.*,userfield.* FROM user LEFT JOIN userfield ON userfield.userid=user.userid WHERE user.userid='49'
mysql error: Can't open file: 'user.MYI'. (errno: 145)

Ian Lambert,
You can always try this link:
http://www.ipower.com/utils/ResendActEmail.bml
Fill out the info, and ipower will email your username and password. It will be sent to the email you registered when you purchased the domain. Make sure to check spam folders to. If you still can't get the user and pass, just call them. They will want the last four digits of the CC you used to purchase the domain.

Ian,
You'll only be able to deal with that through ipower. It sounds like they migrated you without your knowledge -- your 'ipower control panel' may have your updated details in it.
Use the password reset function if it doesn't work but.. otherwise, give 'em a call!

I have managed this site for a couple of years and was blissfully unaware of these problems until last week I could not access my site: all of a sudden my username/password are no longer valid. I have no idea why and cannot find anyone to tell me. Now I am frozen out. It seems clear to me I have to find a new host. Anyone solved the same problem?

Kimberly (& others),
I finally switched to Fused Network, after a comedy of errors from iPower's tech "support". When everything had been transferred, I called 1-866-897-5421 and spoke to a charming young woman named Mandy (in Prince Edward Island), who closed my account with iPower and promised me a prorated refund of my 12-month payment.
Good luck!!
