AABACO will hold your domain hostage, refusing to release it, charge you money without authorization and without telling you beforehand via invoices emailed or snailmailed, and CONTINUE CHARGING YOU AFTER YOU CANCEL YOUR DOMAIN because they refuse to allow you to remove billing info off your account. I tricked them by going to PAYPAL and cancelling payments there and then removing my debit card off of payments, leaving only the PAYPAL that I had cancelled their payments from.

I had $43.95 stolen off my debit card, and they tried to bill paypal 36 hours AFTER they sent me a CANCELLATION CONFIRMATION email. Had I NOT removed my debit card, they would have stolen another $45!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM RIGHT NOW FOR THEIR ILLEGAL BILLING PRACTICES, IN CALIFORNIA. I AM TRYING TO GET IN IT.

I cancelled 2 of my 3 domains and DEFINITELY WILL BE TRANSFERRING THE OTHER ONE AWAY FROM THIS RIPOFF COMPANY!!!!

Sadly, my experience with Aabaco is similar to others... (Joined Yahoo in 2010... Built the site using the yahoo site solution builder.. All good.. Year after year... Then, 3 months ago, my website suddenly experienced long page lags... Over 10 seconds to load any page... I've lost traffic and my patience... )... Aabaco is a cheap company, with mediocre tech support, and sadly I'm stuck with them until I can build an entirely new website with another host... Meanwhile, my site has likely lost traffic and customers due to the server delays...

Does Aabaco give good service? You be the judge: Aabaco Small Business (owned by Yahoo!) and I had a dispute over whether I had given them sufficient notice of closing my domain name account. The trouble was that after I moved my business elsewhere they continued to bill me the exact same amount, which I didn't notice on my credit card statements.

I eventually reviewed the file and became aware of the problem because their accounting system generated an email to me when my credit card number changed and their next charge was rejected.

Up to that point I didn't notice their withdrawals because they stopped sending me their customary notices of upcoming charges.

They refused to communicate about the issue by email, which sucks. Dealing with them by phone was frustrating. Each call started with approximately a quarter hour of waiting on hold while they 'verified' my identity. They insisted they could record the conversation but that I was not allowed to tape record it.

Aabaco Small Business (aka Yahoo Small Business, soon to be acquired by Verizon) was still not accredited by the Better Business Bureau as of 2017/1/13, nevertheless you can get their BBB rating at www.bbb.org. My complaint entered at the BBB in December 2016 resulted in no refund.

In my experience, Yahoo! provides fairly good services, with some minor glitches. Unfortunately those glitches can remain unfixed for years. Maybe Verizon will be able to improve the technical and service culture of Aabaco Small Business / Yahoo. -Maxwell Anderson, Canada

This was my first dealing with Aabaco's customer service which I was doing via the Internet. I emailed them several times with a payment problem since they only accept payment by credit or debit card which at present due to hacking, mine were frozen. I had basically given up hope since there was no compromise. They don't accept money orders. Today I received a call from Aabaco and the representative was extremely helpful handling the problem with the payment and also assisting me to put my website onto my new computer after my old computer went up ion flames. This sole representative has given me an entirely new outlook on Aabaco and it shows m,e that they really do care about their customers.

I just had a long conversation, punctuated by numerous lengthy holds, regarding my domain, which I just canceled. Even though it's still nine days before the domain registration is set to renew, Aabaco refuses to refund the fee they charged me (15 days in advance of renewal), using the excuse that they "already sent the fee to the domain registry." Really? So now I've paid for a domain that I no longer have. Add to that the frustration of dealing with a rep who has poor English skills and such a thick accent that I had to ask him to repeat himself numerous times. Adios, Yahoo / Aabaco, I'm going American only from now on.

He was very polite, and took his time to understand and take of my problem. He helped me get new payment method on my account and then verified all my accounts were up to date with payments and payment methods. He also answered my email questions even though he was hosting customer service. He never told me well that isn't my department. The only thing I don't like is when any of your customer service employees are on the phone they always ask to put you on hold 3 or 4 minutes. He as well did that. I think and have seen with my own customer service that customers do not like to be put on hold. I think putting a customer on hold just so you can look at the computer isn't a good idea. It is better to keep the customer on the phone and read the computer you can tell them you are reading the computer so they understand why you are not talking, but putting a customer on hold isn't good. Customer feels as if you are just sitting there talking to the person next to you. However the person that took care of me was very good and I could understand him. Many times I have got someone on the phone that I had a hard time understanding.

The only negative is the actual site builder itself. It's over due for a major update as it looks like it's from the 90's. If you are using a different site builder than the one provided, then everything is near perfect.

Anni [a supervisor at AaBaco - name spelling may be wrong] was a great Supervisor that THIS TIME understood and hopefully will fix my problem issues on BILLING.

I have called over 10 times the last year to ensure my Company's Domain names [over 100 domains] are billing at $9.95 a year as all of our others. Currently, for some reason, on some of the URLs we are being charges $34.95 a year [approximately 16 URLs] which is not correct, and not suppose to happen... and we didn't understand because our account has a LIFE LONG Coupon for all Renewals at $9.95... as if investigated you will see. So that is why I had to score so low on Pricing + support being "Average" because not able to fix over the last year. As said, if it is regarding my Super I spoke with today - then I'd say it was Above or Perfect. Thx.

Our sub email accounts on our Yahoo small business emails just stopped working. Our customers couldn't send emails to us. After contacting customer support, they said i would have to convert them to individual Yahoo accounts. On their website, they say that sub accounts would have to be converted by the end of the year, but it is now August, and for them to stop working out of the blue is very frustrating, and looks bad to our customers who are getting error messages when sending us email.

I just have a domain name, so Aabaco was too expensive to keep. The service period ended July 16, and I transferred my domain name away on July 9. Then I get my CC statement saying they charged the $35 on July 3, two weeks before the end of the service period! I called and asked for a refund, and they said sorry, but we're keeping the money.

Our website is not a wordpress site... But, we do maintain a wordpress section on the site. Aabaco does not understand that... The website was built with HTML and PHP coding. It also has some Java. Aabaco calls that a third party... I am not sure were to start I am so irritated with this Host. We have been using Yahoo sense 2009. I cannot say anything special about Yahoo. But, at least things were left alone. When Aabaco took over they changed the accepted Permalinks for wordpress... So anyone who had been maintaining a blog for several years such as us and had chose to use the descriptive text permalink we now left with links that went nowhere. Thats right, every blog written was now dead and all organic traffic to those blogs was now dead... When you call Aabaco their customer service reps are trained not to help you with your issue but to instead say that "your site is a third party site and we cannot help with coding". This response is fine if I was looking for help with coding... But, I would never ask for help from these idiots for that. I simply wanted to point out this huge mistake and have them correct it so that our blog pages would appear once again. Sadly this has not been corrected. The only solution was to change the permalinks to another type ie date... So now our old links are dead and our new links get zero traffic and have no SEO built into the link description...

Three months latter... The website forms stop working... Call to Aabaco, they cannot help with third party sites... I try to explain these forms have been working sense they were turned on in 2011. They try to tell me something is wrong with the script... I try to explain the script has not changed... This goes on for a while and finally I give up with their useless brand of help and start to test for issues on my side. I rebuild the forms, I change how the forms are sent, I change out and reduce the emails they go to, I build empty one field form test pages and still nothing is working... I reset back to my original form and call Aabaco again. I seem to have found the needle in the haystack as the guy who answered was quick to tell me that they are having some issues with their SSL and that is preventing emails to be sent... They are working on the issue and keep checking the page... The next morning forms are coming over again... YAY they fixed it. But, how? Well if you use Aabaco you have access to a shared SSL page. When you make use of one of these pages and you access that link on your website your domain is appended with a prefix accessing a SSL server. So instead of website.com/content you have p2.secure.hostingprod.com/@website.com/content (I know, kind of sucks). But, we knew this is what we had and needed some content to be secure so we made use of it. When they "fixed" the SSL issue they did not fix anything they simply moved the SSL to a new server and abandoned the old one. What does that mean? well, instead of p2 now it is p11. Thats right after killing all of our blog links they have now killed all of our secure section links. All content pointing to p2 is now a broken mess setting on a different server. But, hey at least the forms are working again.. Really, that was all we actually care about. We are paying to have people find those forms and fill them out. So we roll forward..

Three months later.. Forms have stopped working again... Now I am familiar with this.. I know what has to be done... How happy the Aabaco person I get will be when they are greeted with a customer who not only knows what has happened but also how to fix it... Right?... Well, lets just say that Aabaco does not support third part websites. Almost an hour going back and forth with the first idiot about how this is not a website issue. He eventually agrees to let me speak to his supervisor who is currently on another call but will call me back in an hour. 16 hours latter I stop holding my breath and call them again... This time I sit on the phone awaiting a supervisor... When I get this guy he is missing his ears.. Dont get me wrong I have allot of respect for anyone who is missing something from their body and still making it through life, and feel that they are very capable people and can do allot of greatness in any industry. But, I am not sure if a person who is not capable of listening is the best selection for a customer service supervisor position. I rely explain everything to this guy very clearly and he does not get it. I then ask that they just change the SSL server again. He tells me that that is just not possible. I said you guys have done it before... He says no they have not.. I say get your manager on the phone right now. I am now 1 hour and 45 minuets into this call with Aabaco. On average you will spend a minimum of at least 30 minuets with them so you can see this one has gotten out of hand... The "manager" is still only familiar with the same canned responses that the original customer service had... They do not support third party websites... He again tells me that changing the SSL server is not possible. I had him go to the site and click on a link that goes to a SSL page. He did and could see the page is broken, it is just an outline missing all images and styling. I had him change p11 to p2 and click enter then bypass the security warning. He did. I asked him how the page looks now. He agreed the page is now styled with color and images. He agreed this is proof that the server had indeed changed. Then I asked that he have it changed again. He went on about how there is nothing he can do and he knows no other department that is above him... Apparently I hit the top level of Aabaco. This guy them muted his phone and just sat there... I guess he is not allowed to hangup on irate customers... but he can stop speaking to them.. I told him what a piece of trash he is and hung up the phone. 2 hour phone call and the "manager" stopped speaking to me after 15 minuets... I guess his time is more important than the 7 years we put into a website that they have destroyed......

If you were a Yahoo to Aabaco customer, Im sorry... I feel your pain... I am now going to another host. I did not want to in the past because I was worried about how it would effect wordpress and SSL links... But, it looks like Aabaco already took care of that concern.

I am not sure if obscenities are appropriate for this website so I have left them out but if you would like to know how this review should have looked fill in every space with one of your choosing... If this story prevents even one person from going to the even, useless monster that is Aabaco it is worth it.

This is a computer-run company. - No service unless you are able to make yourself understood by clicking on little boxes.

They have an incorrect address of mine and keep sending me "replies" there...

ITs the Worst! I regret buying my hosting from yahoo, and Aabaco is the worst there is! ITS SHIT!!!

Down times are high and frequent! The People at the customer care are so stupid are arrogant! feel like hitting my head on the wall talking to them.

They Suspended my website by mistake then took them months to get it back, and now it doesn't work properly! Stupid people ruined a subdomain I had!

Aabaco is truly not only one of the worst, but absolutely THE WORST company I have ever dealt with! The service is horrific. I have spent countless hours over the course of the year trying to change my account. Brought to tears trying to manage through this mess. I finally got my authorization code weaseled out of them so that I can move my domain. They beg and plead and wear you down, but I finally had success!

My advice to anyone considering Aabaco RUN RUN RUN for the life of your business and your personal sanity!!

I had used Yahoo services from more than 5 years with no issues at all. I had paid for 5 years of domain, web hosting, business email services to Yahoo Small Business just before they sold it off to Aabaco.

It was a good amount of money and since last 5 - 6 months, I have not been able to login to the web hosting control panel. I have been with the Aabaco support team on chat and phone several times with several promises. Last week I was with them for almost 8 hours but to no help.

They are not even ready to return my money. My website is still there,,,, but i need to update it and I am not able to. They have no solution, just some lame illogical excuses.

Aabaco is a pure unprofessional and unethical organization. I have paid for 5 years, and I cant even transfer to some other service provider as my domain is locked and I cant get into it to unlock or get the authorization code for transfer

Now when I looked for their reviews, I know its not just me, its ALL the AABACO Customers who are facing this.

We had been with yahoo for nearly 8 years and were generally satisfied, though we were ready to move to a new platform with updated features. Shortly after building my new site elsewhere and forwarding my yahoo owned domain to the new site, yahoo switched to Aabaco... and then the problems started. Apparently with the switch to Aabaco the downgrade feature was dropped, so I found myself paying nearly $90/month to Aabaco for a Merchant Plus account that I was not using. I called Aabaco customer service and was told that the downgrade feature would be added in the near future. The customer rep told me that I should wait for this addition and that they would refund me for the months I had paid extra. About a month later I called Aabaco again to see if the downgrade option was almost ready and was told that, no, the feature is in fact not being added, and that no, I will not receive a refund as he did not see any notes regarding my previous conversation. Aabaco advised that I should transfer my domain to another company (which I had been trying to avoid, so as not to potentially disrupt my website or email, and there really should be no need for me to switch to another company only to continue forwarding my site). I transferred my domain to Godaddy and in the process my email server did of course go down for nearly an hour. Aabaco did not seem to care one bit and continued to refuse to refund me. I canceled my service with Aabaco and now plan to move all of the domains that I own with Yahoo/Aabaco out.

For the past 3 weeks I have trying to rescue my original domain name from Aabaco that took over Yahoo Small Business accounts.

They totally failed and will not refund my money for services they could not provide. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

I was a mostly happy Yahoo Small Business client since 2010. The transition to Aabaco in 2015 is a total failure and a tragic disaster for former Yahoo customers. Nothing works. They don't care. Aabaco is a fraud.

Aabaco is horrible. Plain and simple. My domain that I have had for many years was transferred to them from Yahoo Small biz. The domain is www.papc.biz. Its dead. They are still billing me for it via autodraw from my company bank account. I have had ten separate telephone conversations with them about getting the domain up again. They claim it is a known issue but it requires their higher level support to fix the issue. Well, its been two months and it still is not fixed. I called them today and asked why their tech had not called back in the 24 - 48 hours as promised and they got agitated with me and said it may be another 24 - 48 hours. I have heard nothing from them and the problem remains.

Don't use them.

I purchased my domain and a week later it still didn't show up on my account. Called and they said they would cancel the account and that we needed to purchase it again. 3 days after purchasing it again, still nothing. 45 minutes on the phone and they told me they would cancel it again and I needed to repurchase it. I told him if he thought I was going to do that he was stupid. There are much better providers out there, STAY AWAY!

I've been extremely happy for the last ~15 years with Yahoo and then they dump my account to this horrible company. They wouldn't show my billing information on the site and redirected me to Yahoo Small Biz, which redirected me to Aabaco. It was a never ending circle. I didn't want to stay with Yahoo because I found a cheaper solution for what I was using their services. Aabaco provided NO advanced notice that they were about to charge my credit card. It wasn't until I received a fraud alert that I found out about it. They made me jump through ridiculous verification hoops in order to cancel the account, including 8 digits of the credit card they charged, that I don't use regularly and don't have access to. The claimed that it was their policy to verify the credit card and claimed that there was no way to verify the account without it, but less than 2 weeks ago, the pulled up my account and verified me without it. I was told to call the credit card company to get the 8 digits of my credit card. The last time I checked banks don't give out account numbers, partial or full. He claimed this is standard and banks do it all the time. Of course, the people that I dealt with had the standard thick accent that comes with customer service these days. RIDICULOUS!

Exactly the same as the other reviewers - horrible customer service - waited almost 2 weeks for a non-solution that I couldn't reply to. Been a yahoo customer since geocities. Leaving them. Don't get sucked in. And reviews with multiple stars here are probably because the default is a 3/5.

I have been with yahoo small biz for about 10 years - with, as another review noted, steadily declining worth to the service.

Now that Aabaco has taken over, I am sorry to say the service is even worse. I cannot publish changes to my 2 separate websites.

On contacting Aabaco via phone and email, I have spent nearly 3 hours on hold before I hung up without every being answered, and have sent multiple email complaints with their service.

I get unhelpful, incomplete suggestions - such as the suggestion to download the updated version of Sitebuilder. When I attempt to go to the link Aabaco has provided, the page is yet another error message!

Needless to say, I'm ready to find a new host.

I was with Yahoo Small business until they switched to Aabaco Small Business. I am unable to access my Email online. I sent in a service request online a week ago and still haven't heard back. When I call the support department I am on hold for a really long time with no one ever helping me. I am extremely unhappy and will be finding a new hosting company.

I've used yahoo business email hosting for years and years, with service and reliability declining over the entire period. I was hopeful that the move to Aabaco would be a positive, but it does not seem to be starting well.

I received my welcome email and attempted to set up -- but it appears I need to answer pages of intrusive questions before I am permitted to do that. Why does Aabaco or yahoo or whoever need to know my company's annual revenues, number of employees, or other information? If you attempt to bypass answering these needless inquiries, you are advised that the responses are mandatory.

And this new service is located in India? Home of quality customer service?

Currently searching for new host.

After Yahoo sold to Aabaco, my service is terrible. I can not sign in, if I do manage to get in, it constantly interrupts me to ask me to sign in again, and again, and then it just sits and spins.

If this is what is to be, I will be moving to a different host very soon!

After I learned that Yahoo Small Business transferred its web-hosting to Aabaco Small Business I could not log in to view the terms of service or set up my new account, as recommended. Although the screen I encountered told me that an email was being sent to my account, I did not receive an email.

I then called the customer service number provided by Aabaco and was on hold for over an hour waiting for assistance. When an assistant picked up on the call, she was unable to help me with any of my issues. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that the supervisor was too busy taking other calls, and probably would not call me back if I left a message. When I asked for a means of addressing my issues by email, I was told that this was not possible.

In all I spent three hours trying to resolve what should be a common issue. The time spent was a total waste. I did not get anything resolved.

This is not a good sign of things to come after Yahoo sold this part of its company.
