I have hosted my music business web site at Laughing Squid for 1.5 years. They were recommended by a fellow student in a flash class that I was taking.

My brief conversations with support when setting up my service were personal and professional.

The ongoing service and the cost of hosting are both much better than either of the last two companies that I had worked with.

I have had great luck with laughingsquid. I found them through the recommendation of wordpress and so far so good. I have been with them a little over a year with no problems. I have not had to deal with their support staff for any issues but I did contact them once to thank them. I really do feel that they are more personal of a host than most others. In a time where everyone can agree that hosting company performance is on par with job satisfaction at the DMV, at least it is nice to work with people who are real humans that care about their field and their communities.

With that said, their site clearly says they target artist and blogger types. I fit that schema but ymmv.
